Open Laboratory Environment

Not too much to see yet...

This the landing page for the Open Laboratory Environment (OLE). Here you find all the important information you need to build and use OLE Hard- &Software.

Open Laboratory Environment (OLE) is the generalized term for an environment that connects Open Source Hard- & Software using standardized interfaces and metadata standards. It is a bit like your Smart-home, helping you to structurize your laboratory, collects measurement data and its including metadata and puts it all into one place, helping you to unleash the power of AI directly, or later on.

For now, OLE is a “Best Practice Approach”, giving you ideas and guidance, without binding you to specific manufacturers.

OLE was proposed by P. Mattern [Diabetes Competence Centre Karlsburg (KDK), Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP)] in June 2021 and was first presented to the public at the “11th Workshop of Chemical and Biological Micro Laboratory Technology” in March 2022 in Elgersburg, Germany. A first working demonstrator was designed by A. Falke [EUREGIO BioMedtech Center, Fachhochschule Münster] during his Bachelor thesis in 2021 at KDK.
